AMD Driver updates via Steam

Steam releasing AMD/ATI drivers = Win. I know your inner laziness cheered a bit, that is if it could be bothered to expend the energy to do so. We’re friends with both AMD and NVIDIA here at Cooler Master. A few of us are big computer gamers also, so this announcement made by AMD yesterday is very interesting. AMD will be releasing their drivers via Steam starting with their ATI Catalyst 10.9 Drivers. I’m not on steam much these days, but I still go on every once in awhile for a game of Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, World of Goo, Plants vs. Zombies, or any THQ Dawn of War game.

I’m a big computer hardware nerd so I have a few computers sporting Intel, NVIDIA and ATI/AMD products. I’ll make sure to give this a try when it’s available.

I know some people have reservations about Steam, but I feel it is a nice middle ground between SecuROM (or similar DRM) laden discs and ones like Sins of a Solar Empire. It was extremely helpful when I did testing on temporary computers since I could load any game on there I wanted just by setting which to download.
